Well...Peanut's 2nd birthday has come and gone.  As always - it seemed to fly right on by.  But I am happy to report that her party was a huge success.  The decorations came out just how I imagined they would.  The room was festive and there was WAY too much food.  But everyone had a good time, Peanut got some awesome presents, and I got to spend the day surrounded by family.

The theme of the party was Candyland. I made the banners to hang up as well as the candy decorations.  The hubs helped me hang streamers and we purchased a helium machine and blew up almost 30 balloons for the festivities.

Here is the main table where the sweet treats were. The center was the chocolate fountain with marshmallows and rice krispies for dipping.  The cupcakes (strawberry and vanilla) were on racks in the back and the rest of the table was candy. On the right are the favor buckets that the little kids got to fill with candy before they left. They also got a bouncy ball and Mickey Mouse stickers (this was Peanut's party after all!).

Here are a few close up pictures of the table:

Vanilla cupcakes, gumballs, candy necklaces, and M&Ms.

Rice krispies and marshmallows for dipping, gummy bears, chocolate and lollipops.
Strawberry cupcakes, lollipops, skittles, and more gumballs.

We found the gumball machines at TJ Maxx for like $4.99 each so we grabbed those thinking they would be great for the party.  We have quite a few gumballs left so the hubs brought a machine to work so he could munch on them throughout the day.

For food we had hot dogs cooked on an old fashioned hot dog roller, ham, turkey and buffalo chicken wraps, a veggie tray, cheese and crackers, and popcorn.  Like I said - way too much food! We munched on the wraps for like three days after the party.

A really cool juice waterfall - this was our version of "fizzy lifting juice" from the movie. :)

I let Peanut pick out the colors for the cups and utensils - so as you can see they are all different colors.  But it went very well with the theme.  I think she has as future in design. Or party planning. ;-)

Here are a few more pictures from the party that day:

With her grandpy. I was trying to get a picture of her birthday shirt which we had custom made.  It has the #2 on it with a lollipop and her name.

"Cheesin" with Pop Pop.

Birthday girl eating some grub.  Better shot of her special shirt.

Her cousin Bubby laid on the floor and Peanut immediately yelled "PONY!" and then tried to ride him like he was a pony.  I couldn't stop laughing and I had to grab a picture before I removed her.

Singing happy birthday and trying to convince her to blow out the candle.  She kept saying "hot!"

Loving her birthday cupcake.

Thank you hugs while opening presents.

Some real concentration on opening up presents.

Posing with Uncle B and the pony he gave her - this one she IS allowed to ride.

A photo with her great grandma. <3 font="">

I was super happy with how the party turned out. Of course I was running around playing hostess and making sure everyone had food, etc that I barely had time to eat.  By the end of the day my pregnant back and feet were screaming for relief.  So I was pretty happy once the house was quiet again and Peanut went to bed for the night.  But - I'd do it all over again in a heart beat. :-)

Now I have to start thinking of themes for her party next year.  Always good to get a head start right?
